Cleaning out my closet

Sorry for the Eminem reference, but it fits.

I am going to be cleaning out my friends list. Some of you are safe, a vast majority are not.

If you feel you are one of the few who is not safe, leave a comment on this entry. I will start deleting friends on Wednesday, Feb 6th, 2008.

So, how is everyone in LJ land? I'm dealing with a crappy cold. The worst of it was over in about a day, but I still have that annoying scratchy throat cough. Blech.

Other than that, I'm a little stressed, with the severe lack of sales last month, but with any luck, they will pick up this month. We gave everyone a free month last month, as a "thank you" to those who had subscribed before December 31st, and we believe between that and the fact that everyone is in debt up to their eyeballs from xmas, is what contributed to the extremely small amount of money we brought in. So, we are trying to figure out new ways to advertise. The biggest issue we are running into is the fact that a big portion of the "geek" community in the mainstream area, is between 14 and 17. This presents a large problem, as we are a porn site. So, if anyone has any ideas on how to boost marketing, without breaking our pocketbooks, we'd be eternally greatful.

Well, I believe that's really it. Didn't do anything this weekend. Sat around the house, sick, and got tomorrow's GeekZine and new set ready to go.

Have a great Monday everyone!

Offer link exchanges and also do virtual flyers/ads for gaming shops/gaming shops online in return for banner exchange? Have models appear at conds to promote site wearing GGO shirt model purchases (as I am doing at Dragon-con), Promote GGO on consluts.com too! But a con prescence is important fro any site.

Definitely good ideas. Since you're not able to afford an affiliate program just yet, the link exchange could be a good way to get some adult blogs to push you. I know I'd be willing to do link trades with a few of my websites if the opportunity came up.

Also, maybe look around Black Label Ads... sometimes you can find real steals when it comes to ad buying.

Lastly, I added you, but I'm not one of the types to get offended if I'm not added back... so do what you will ;)

Oh, and maybe start reading gfy.com and other webmaster/program oriented forums... when you dig through the drama at GFY, you can actually find some good lessons/traffic trades/contacts.

I don't comment often as I'd like, but I would like to stick around if that's ok.

Well, I THOUGHT I was safe. Aparently I wasn't. What can I do to make it up to you - and what can I do to let me keep reading your entries!

Add me back, please?
